Mere colour, unspoiled by meaning, and unallied with definite form, can speak to the soul in a thousand different ways.-Oscar Wilde

Excerpt from a letter to my mom on our first day in Sayulita, Mexico:

"Yesterday we rented surfboards and got a little lesson from Terry, the owner of our Casa Bueno Ondo. I stood up several times and so did Justin! We are hooked! We surfed all day! That night the local school put on a circus in the middle of town. The entire thing was in Spanish and it was beautiful! I kept thinking... I wish mom could see this. I took lots of pictures. The costumes were amazing!"

Please look at the kids faces below... priceless.

In my friend, I find a second self. ~Isabel Norton

My travel buddy....

He is the best.

Justin was always looking up words in Spanish to try to seduce me at the dinner table. Our waiter found this endlessly funny. :) We tried to speak Spanish the entire time we were there.
We had an open air shower ... and bedroom it was so much fun to never REALLY go inside all week!
(k - doesn't this picture kick ass.... I LOVE this picture. Everything is in focus and it is so colorful. I was pretty proud of my photography skills here.)

“You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.” Jon Kabat-Zinn

We surfed... A lot.

We lived on a little street where roosters would crow at 3am and there was always music playing from a house. (We actually sorta miss the noise now.)

We spent our days at the beach...
and our nights in town.

We lived in bathing suits.
Oh and did we take photos... I will be posting more over the next couple days.

A vital way of life....

Surfing, alone among sports, generates laughter at its very suggestion, and this is because it turns not a skill into an art, but an inexplicable and useless urge into a vital way of life.
MATT WARSHAW, Maverick's: The Story of Big-Wave Surfing

If we are not eating at amazing Mexican restaurantes or practicing our Spanish we are surfing. We are addicted.

*I can not load pictures from my camera here. I have no idea why.

Miss you all!

Why do we love the sea? It is because it has some potent power to make us think things we like to think. ~Robert Henri

"For whatever we lose (like a you or a me)/ it's always ourselves we find in the sea.”E. E. Cummings quotes

We just booked a trip to Sayulita, Mexico! I am beside myself with excitement! We are headed out for a week in April for surf, sun and some major relaxing! I have traveled to Sayulita once before on a whim with both Justin and my mom and we feel in LOVE with the place. Here are pictures from our last trip...

How amazing is this place? Seriously, this picture sums it up. a naked baby and surfers and the sun.

I was waiting for the bus and this little girl started rattling off all the cards she had collected to me. :) I love making those connections with kids. That moment will stay with me forever. She was SO talkative! I only picked up every other word!

Justin tested out the local beers!

I booked us at the SWEETEST 2 bedroom Bungalow called Casa Bueno Onda.
I talked to Terry the owner yesterday and they just seemed so relaxed and professional. PS there is an outdoor shower and the third floor is for star gazing. I'm sold.
