GPS Enhancing SmartCradle for iPhone Showcased by Pioneer at CES 2011

If you wanted your iPhone to have enhanced GPS capabilities, you would need to take a look at the cool SmartCradle, which has been announced by Pioneer just for the iPhone. It was announced at the CES 2011, and it gives a tremendous boost to the GPS signals. It comes with a built in amplified speaker and microphone which would also make it easy for you to call your friends and family while you are driving. The device costs $129, and it takes power from the car’s cigarette lighter.

It also can easily rotate in order to make sure that you are getting the best signals to help you reach your destination. Moreover, it also charges your iPhone when it is being used, which makes it super-cool, as most devices don’t charge your iPhone, but consume extra power themselves.

This is one such device which is not only cool and user-friendly, but is also green and environment conscious. If you were looking for the best iPhone accessory, perhaps you need to get yourself the SmartCradle by Pioneer. It costs a whopping $129, but it is well worth the money spent on it.

iSonic: An Electronic Cane For Visually Impaired - - Lets Its User Know When it is Two Meters Away From An Obstruction of Any Kind

There are so may times where you see a gadget and think, “Wow, why was this even created?” because a lot of things are kind of pointless. This year at CES, there is finally something that not only has a purpose, but can really help those that need it.

The iSonic is an electronic cane that lets its user know when it is two meters away from an obstruction of any kind. It works 55 degrees vertically and 25 degrees horizontally, and will increase in vibration strength based on how far away an object is. There are obviously two sides to this, as it will help those who are blind with no or little other ability sense-wise, but it may actually slightly impair those who are used to their condition. Also, if for any reason the battery should run out at an inopportune moment, things could go very bad very quickly. But! Generally, this is an awesome idea, and it also has the ability to detect colors when waved over a hue it recognizes. It has the ability to see red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white, and black, and can even tell you when it’s dark outside. No word on pricing or availability.

Motorola Atrix: "World's Most Powerful Smartphone" - - A Smartphone That Plugs into the Shell of a Laptop

It's a smartphone. It's a computer. It's the Atrix!

Motorola's getting a lot of press this morning after announcing the Xoom, its much-hyped competitor to the iPad. But the Atrix, also unveiled at Motorola's press conference yesterday, is generating quite a lot of buzz as well.

The novel idea behind the Atrix is that it's a smartphone that plugs into the shell of a laptop. Unlike the doomed Palm Foleo, which synced a computer with a Palm Treo, all the computing power in the Atrix is in the smartphone.

The phone, which Motorola is calling the "world's most powerful smartphone," has some great guts: an NVIDIA Tegra 2, four-inch display, a front-facing camera and a rear-facing 5MP camera, 11GB RAM, 16GB on-board memory, and a microSD card slot. It runs Android 2.2 FroYo.

The laptop, which is being dubbed a "webtop," has an 11.6-inch display, two USB ports and a full keyboard.

Electronista had a brief hands-on with the Atrix, and had high praise for the hardware and design, with slight misgivings about the software. Obviously, it's still early to make a call on the Atrix's performance, but Electronista noted that performance slowed down considerably when the phone was docked into the laptop shell.

MSI Butterfly and MSI Angelow: Part of All-in-one Wind Top Desktops - - To Be Unveiled at CES 2011

MSI set to unveil, at CES 2011, a new line of the company’s all-in-one Wind Top desktops, promise to bring about a new scenario in computing. Two of them have been nicknamed Butterfly and Angelow.

However not many details have been revealed ahead of the CES that gets underway in a few days from now, we get to understand that the Butterfly concept would come with 10-point multi-touch sliding LCD. If you are one of those PC freaks who always thought a static monitor can be so boring, this is for you.

You will be able to slide the LCD as per your convenience and then bring it back to its normal position for mouse and keyboard use. Sounds exciting, doesn’t it?
For the moment, the MSI Angelow concept comes across as a more straightforward design. However, you would get to play with some upscale components. We are just waiting to know what MSI has hid under the Angelow and Butterfly hood.

Skype Bringing Video Chatting on iPhone in Upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2011) in Las Vegas

Skype on the iPhone is hardly news, but a support document leaked some information that hints at the new ability of video chat. Let’s give a round of applause to the upcoming CES and Skype for trickling out this nifty news. Now that front facing camera will actually have a purpose in life, because honestly, who uses Face Time?

Even though you’ll likely need to have WiFi for it to work, it will still be rather convenient to not have to be tied to a laptop with webcam capabilities if you only have a specific slot of time to talk to someone. It’ll be extremely convenient for conversations with friends and family who are in a completely different time zone, or on the other side of the globe.

Samsung Galaxy Player: Potential Killer of iPod - - Set to be Launched in CES 2011 (Must See Video)

Samsung is trying to capture the Android market with their ever-penetrating gadgets and devices. It seems that Samsung has planned to give a stiff competition to Apple in 2011 on all fields.

Ostensibly, Samsung is not satisfied to challenge the iPad with the Samsung Galaxy Tab or the iPhone with its Galaxy S line of smartphones, will use January’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas to disclose yet another Apple competitor, the Galaxy Player.

Galaxy Player a touchscreen multimedia device meant to take the iPod Touch head-on in the consumer market.

Galaxy Player will run Android 2.2 (Froyo) and include a 1GHz processor, 4-inch touch-screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, front- and rear-facing cameras, HD video playback, and access to apps via the Android Market. The 1200mAh battery will be removable.

If a Samsung Galaxy Player would manage strong sales upon release, it would shake up a portable-media-device market long dominated by Apple’s iPod line. Other competitors, including Microsoft’s Zune HD, have earned strong reviews from critics but generally middling sales.

Watch the device in action in this video:

Motorola Created Buzz Around With The Released Teaser Video - - Moto-tab Set to Be Launched in CES 2011 (Must See Video)

Motorola managed to create an excitement around with the released video of upcoming tablet which is set to be launched at CES 2011. The recently released ad by the company confirms that it will be running Honeycomb. The release teaser ad is quite humourous when the famous tablets are compared with their own device.

The 3D video begins with scenes showing the ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics tablet to the tablets of stone, down to the Rosetta stone, GriDPad, and to the iPhone which was labelled as a giant iPhone, then the Galaxy Tab saying it has Android OS for a phone. And finally the camera focuses on a stand draped with a black cloth having the Motorola logo in front of it.

And just when you guys thought the video was over, a honey bee came buzzing in front of the Motorola logo. Then came the words CES 2011.

NEC isn't offering the LifeTouch directly to consumers in Japan. Instead, it's hoping service providers will offer it to consumers bundled with an online service. NEC is ostensibly also planning to launch a keyboard-equipped Android net-book to CES 2011, along with the original LifeTouch.

LG Star: Gets First Emergence on The Web - - With Super Fast Speed Runs on the NVIDIA Tegra 2

The LG Star made a surprising emergence on US technology website Engadget, courtesy of what it calls a very generous and anonymous tipster.

The phone, which is still a beta device, runs on the NVIDIA Tegra 2 and is ostensibly so fast that it will give current phones; including the Nexus S, an inferiority complex.

The LG Star comes with a 4-inch WVGA display likely to be a super LCD rather than an AMOLED one. It has four touch sensitive buttons in the front with a front camera as well plus a microUSB port.

Although LG played it safe with the design of the handset, the performance, even for a phone still in development, is anything but.

On Engadget's own benchmarks, the LG Star was almost three times faster than the Samsung Galaxy S which provides with the hardware foundation of the Nexus S.

Expect the phone to be launched at CES 2011 or MWC 2011 in Barcelona next year with a global roll out by the end of first half of 2011.
