The best gift I ever received was the summer of my 21st birthday. My parents said, " Stay at home. Have fun. Don't work. Just take time to be you."

That summer I picked up running, met the man of my dreams and learned how to fix a sprinkler system.
I also took time to grow up, to define what I stood for and what I wanted in life. I found who I wanted to be and who was important in my life. I actually spent a lot of time alone.
My parents took the time to travel all around the country.
I look back on that time now and I think, "What a wonderful gift." I plan to do this with my kids.
